A Great Juicer Vs A Good Juicer

Juicers basically fall into three categories: Centrifugal, Vertical Masticulating, or Horizontal Masticulating. Juicers basically fall into three categories: Centrifugal, Vertical Masticulating, or Horizontal Masticulating. Horizontal Masticulating juicers have their own two separate categories: Stainless Steel Augers or Teflon Augers. Just as they fall into categories, do do they also fall into price ranges with Centrifugal being the least expensive and horizontal masticulating being the most expensive. Centrifugal juicers spin at very high speeds, up to 11,000 to 15,000 RPM sometimes, and although they are faster, they tend to generate heat which can degrade the enzymes in your food causing oxidation (just as if you peel an apple and let it sit, it will start to turn brown). Masticulating juicers spin at much lower speeds (usually in the 80 RPM range) and do not cause the oxidative damage that is typical with faster spinning juicers. I have both a centrifugual juicer and a vertical masticulating juicer, and this is my take on the good, the bad, and the ugly of both versions. You will find this article both useful and entertaining… because it’s my job to make it so. Enjoy and juice like there’s no tomorrow. I will give you a great recipe too. What more is there?
